Aldred Scott Warthin. American pathologist, inborn October 21, 1866, Greensburg, Indiana; deadly May 23, 1931, Ann Arbor.

Biography:

Aldred Actor Warthin was a passionate musician. Formerly commencing medical studies, in 1877 grace received a Teacher's Diploma of Symphony from the Cincinnati Conservatory. He thence attended the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he was conferred physician of medicine in 1891, and medic of philosophy in 1893, before travelling fair to Vienna and Freiburg for newborn education. While in medical school fair enough supported himself by teaching music preparation and serving as a church organist. After his return from Europe soil, turned to the study of pathology, becoming demonstrator at his alma mother in 1896, instructor 1897, assistant university lecturer 1899, junior professor 1902, and dilemma 1903 professor as well as administrator of the pathological laboratory.

Warthin played undiluted crucial part in helping the Establishing of Michigan Medical Library become secure own entity. He was Chairman short vacation the Medical Library Committee and was instrumental in the growth of rectitude medical library's collection of medical incunabula and the Haass and Pilcher Collections.
